ABOUT
East Wing Debris Field Mobile Sampler confronts the demolition of the White House East Wing as an act for the erasure of history
in the face of unchecked greed, resurgent fascism and authoritarianism.
What is lost when we allow foundational structures—physical, political, cultural—to be destroyed? What rises in their place?
These elements are intentionally misaligned or collapsed, echoing how historical narratives are distorted or destroyed when power shifts toward authoritarian control. Embedded within the rubble of construction materials and office furniture are hand-glazed bricks.
This mobile sculpture was on view in public locations in and around Washington Square Park, New York, NY on November 22, 2025.
This collaborative piece was created for the Fall of Freedom national protest.
